Donna Galluzzo // Executive Director » [dgalluzzo@salt.edu]
Donna began a 27-year career in education as a third grade teacher in the South Bronx, NYC. After a year teaching in the area affectionately known to New Yorkers as "Fort Apache," she moved to Washington, DC where she spent eight years as a corporate trainer and consultant at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. During that time, she was lucky enough to spend a year living and working in Toronto, Canada - a city as near and dear to her heart as Portland, Maine. After nearly a decade working in the for-profit world, she decided it was time for a career change and started working at Outward Bound as an experiential educator. Soon after that, she started her own business as a training consultant for the social service sector. She moved back to Maine to complete her graduate degree and spent a semester studying documentary photography at the Salt Institute as part of her graduate studies. A few years after her semester at Salt, Pamela Wood (Salt's founder) asked her to come back and interview for a position. In 2000, she was hired on as staff and in 2003 she was appointed Executive Director. During her tenure at Salt she's had the privilege of meeting and working with an amazing group of students, faculty and staff.
Caitlin Allen // Salt's MVP » [callen@salt.edu]
Caitlin moved to Portland in 2009 to attend Salt as a radio student and hasn't been able to leave. She enjoys living in the state that produces 90% of the nation's toothpicks, and getting to be one of the first to see and hear the great documentary work coming out of Salt every semester.
